Dwarven profession system

Mining, Smelting and Blacksmithing

Dwarven Smithing is a physical crafting system. Mine mineral veins with mining pickaxes, smelt ores into bars at a dwarven furnace, then use a Dwarven Smithhammer near an anvil to reforge common equipment into forged items.

How to Begin

1. Speak with Bromir

Ask Bromir Emberhand about mission, work or apprentice to join the dwarven craft.

2. Earn your tools

Bring a common pick, then 10 Copper Ores. Later, bring a Battle Hammer and 500 gold to receive your first Dwarven Smithhammer.

3. Work at the forge

Use ores on the furnace, and use the Dwarven Smithhammer on forgeable items while standing beside an anvil. Experienced crafters can also install house furnaces and anvils.

The system does not use the old Forge/Focus mechanics. Item Tier and Rarity Upgrade remain separate systems.

Dwarven Smithhammers

Smithhammers are required for every blacksmithing recipe. Better smithhammers do not make forging faster; they have more durability and need repairs less often. Forging speed comes from the anvil used.

If you carry more than one smithhammer, the forge uses the strongest available one first: Masterwork, Runed, Reinforced, then the basic Dwarven Smithhammer. Bromir can repair worn smithhammers.

Ores and Smelting

Use a stack of ores from your inventory on a dwarven smelting furnace. The furnace turns the required number of ores into one bar.

Forging consumes smithhammer durability while the work is in progress. Stronger recipes take longer and spend more charges. Bromir can repair worn pickaxes and smithhammers.
